The Glenelg Sprint Challenge is Surf Life Saving SA’s premier Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series event.

Previously known at the Summer of Surf, the newly rebranded Shaw and Partners World Ocean Series will bring together the best surf sport athletes from across the globe, uniting them in a series of high-stakes competitions that celebrate the sport’s rich heritage while embracing its future.

In just its second year running, the 2024 Glenelg Sprint Challenge offers a thrilling and elevated competition, with 7,000 points and over $30,000 worth of prize money to be won!

Events

The Glenelg Sprint Challenge will see U15, U17 and Open athletes compete in the following categories:

  • Iron

  • Cameron and Taplin Relays

  • "Dash-for-Cash" Skins Racing

  • Swim

  • Board

  • Ski

Points

Athletes can claim up to 7,000 points in the Glenelg Sprint Challenge.

Prize pool

A total prize pool of $30,000 is up for grabs.

Event schedule

Friday December 20

  • Proposed start time of 4:00pm

  • Events include iron heats and semis, and ‘Dash-for-Cash’ Skins Racing

Saturday December 21

  • Start time of 9:00am

  • Events include swim, board, ski, iron, and cameron and taplin relays

  • National Broadcast / Livestream Finals Package

  • Open: $65 - unlimited events

  • Juniors: $50 - unlimited events
