Surf lifesaving
This category recognises those who have been involved in all facets of surf lifesaving operations. Examples are active patrolling, training and examination, rescue services and the general support activities involved in beach patrols, search and rescue, and surveillance.
Surf lifesaving - Administration
This category recognises those involved in the purely administrative aspects of surf lifesaving. Examples are, but not limited to, club secretaries and treasurers. This category also includes surf sports officials.
Surf lifesaving - Sport
This category recognises those who have excelled in lifesaving sports and/or the coaching and training associated with lifesaving sports.
All nominations must then be sub-categorised into decade interval categories as follows:
(01) 1952-1960
(02) 1961-1970
(03) 1971-1980
(04) 1981-1990
(05) 1991-2000
(06) 2001 until present
