Wiltja Residential College is a 'halls of residence' for Aboriginal children from remote communities to reside in whilst completing their schooling at Woodville or Windsor Park High Schools.
The Wiltja Surf Life Saving Program is an SLSSA funded program delivered through Henley SLSC. It is designed to promote engagement with the Aboriginal community and has been running since 2008.
This season the number of boys and girls completing their award has doubled to 10 boys and 5 girls.
It has been a Henley SLSC goal to build the Wiltja kids confidence to the point where they are happy to compete in the Henley colours.
Tyrone, Billy and Tyrell have shown great traits of what it means to be a surf lifesaver. So this year these boys were the first from Wiltja to take to the track. As they sprinted at top speed in the beach sprints, flags and 2km run in carnivals throughout the season they were prepared for 2018 State Titles. Tyrone, Billy and Tyrell were very successful in making finals for their age groups. A special moment when Billy, Tyrell, Oscar and Fraser won Bronze in the U14/15 male Beach relay.

Their participation has been well received by the SLSSA community. The spirit of their participation has always been the focus. The boys showed true spirit, sportsmanship, mingling whilst having fun with members of the other clubs.
