Advisory Committee Announcements - Committee Members

Following up on the announcement yesterday of our committee chair positions, we’re now pleased to announce all of the committee member appointments.

Our Advisory Committees play a hugely important role in the development and success of surf life saving here in SA. The committee members take on a on a significant role behalf of our members, and we’re exceptionally thankful for their vital contribution to these positions.

After a thorough nomination process, the Board of Surf Life Saving South Australia have endorsed the following members of our State Advisory Committees.

1. Development Advisory Committee (Chair + 5-7 members)

Advisory Committee Announcements - Chair Positions

We are pleased to formally announce the appointments of our new Advisory Committee Chairs. Adam Luscombe - Chair Development Advisory Committee

Adam is well placed to lead our newly formed Development Advisory Committee, having joined the movement almost 30 years ago and being involved in many facets of surf lifesaving during that time. As the General Manager of the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, SLSSA Board member, Chair of the LWC2018 Organising Committee as well as past Chair of the Junior Surf Sports Panel and member of the Surf Sports Advisory Committee, Adam brings the much needed skills, experience & passion to lead a dynamic and innovative team on this newly created committee.

Kate Perry - Chair Education Advisory Committee

Kate Perry is a Life Member of Port Noarlunga SLSC with extensive knowledge in training and education. She’s provided a significant contribution to Surf Life Saving SA through a number of different roles and positions, including as an assessor, chief instructor, Development committee member, Life Saving Advisory committee member, first aid facilitator and an education engagement officer. In her personal life Kate is qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Her extensive involvement with surf lifesaving will prove exceptionally valuable to this role.

Glen Gallagher - Chair Lifesaving Advisory Committee

As Squadron Leader and Deputy Air Base Executive Officer at Edinburgh Air Base, Glen is an experienced leader and manager responsible for base aviation safety, airfield engineering, airfield operations and emergency management.  Glen holds a Bachelor of Technology (Aeronautical Engineering), Master of Engineering Science (Aerospace Engineering), Masters of Systems Engineering (Weapons and Ordnance) and Advanced Diplomas in Government Management and in Aviation.  On top of this he enjoys his role as Club Captain at North Haven SLSC where his three young daughters are involved as nippers and he is a member of EOG in the RPAS team.

Pat Larven - Chair Surf Sports Advisory Committee

With a background in human resource management, Pat is a well respected figure in surf sports over recent years. Under Pat’s leadership over the past two years, the Surf Sports Advisory Committee has initiated considerable change and significant improvement and with exciting times ahead Pat’s collaborative approach will steer the committee beyond 2020.
