Surf Life Saving Patrol Season Ends Early in SA

Surf Life Saving SA has announced that it is bringing forward the end of the volunteer beach patrol season by two weeks.

With volunteer beach patrols originally due to finish on Monday April 13th, the Board of Surf Life Saving SA (SLSSA) says that effective immediately, all patrols by volunteer surf lifesavers on South Australian beaches will be cancelled for the remainder of the season. This unique decision was made to protect the safety and welfare of volunteer surf lifesavers from potential infection by the COVID-19 virus and to discourage gatherings of more than two people on popular beaches.

Surf Life Saving Australia Issues Message to Stay Home

Surf Life Saving Australia has issued a message encouraging people to stay home and urging them to avoid going to the beach. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to develop, and the need for people to strictly adhere to social distancing guidelines remains, we want to take this opportunity to let people know that regular beach patrols right around Australia may have changed.

With member welfare and safety our first priority, our surf lifesavers are asking you to stay home.
