Surf Life Saving SA President John Baker was appointed Deputy National President on the weekend at the Surf Life Saving Australia National Board Meeting. His appointment is the first time a South Australian has ever held the office making him the highest ranking National Surf Life Saving officer ever to come from South Australia.
Mr Baker is looking forward to making a significant impact on the future of Surf Life Saving in Australia and continuing the current trajectory of growth, innovation and modernisation for the organisation. He said “it’s an exciting time and I’m looking forward to continuing to support the President Graham Ford and the ambitions of our membership”.
Surf Sport Series - Round 3 Preview
The Surf Sport Series round three is set to kick off tomorrow morning at Aldinga Beach. We are starting to get to the pointy end of the Series, and due to the tight competition this year all of the Series Titles are still there for the taking.
This weekend could either make or break the athletes, all hoping to have a good hit out to secure vital points in the series.
We spoke to Series Title contenders Caitlin Sheehy and Ethan Rump about the Series this far.
Training Officer & Assessor Courses
Surf Life Saving SA have scheduled in a Training Officer course and Assessor course.
The Surf Life Saving SA Training Officer Course provides Surf Life Saving Club members the opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills that will assist in providing delivery of group and individual instruction, and the demonstration of work skills.
The Surf Life Saving SA Assessor Course provides Surf Life Saving Club members with the skills, knowledge and experience to competently assess Surf Life Saving awards and nationally recognised training.
